Rolex "Oyster Sea-Dweller", Mark II Rail Dial "Great White", with original box and papers.
We are proud to offer one of the most beautiful and rarer Rolex Sea-Dweller from the year 1978. This watch is known in collector lore as the "Great White", getting the nickname from the colour of the text on the dial. Although the Sea-Dweller reference 1665 "Great White" had been in production for less than five years, there are in fact five dial variations to speak of - Mark 0 to Mark IV.
With the exception of the Mark 0, the Mark II dial is the rarest configuration.
Also known as the Rail Dial, the MK II dial has the letter "C" in "Chronometer" in the first row line up exactly with the letter "C" in "Certified" in the second row. Also, the "ft" and "m" in the depth ratings are in italics. Which also makes this watch special for many collectors, is that it is the latest Sea-Dweller model which is equipped with a plexi glass. which also makes this watch special for collectors.
